An amazing array of Grayshott Gardens – open for all!

Nestled in the Surrey/Hampshire hills, Grayshott is an award-winning village famous for being ‘the village that has everything’. Situated in an area of outstanding beauty, surrounded by National Trust forest and health land, many of Grayshott’s gardens enjoy stunning views of the undulating countryside and benefit from the acidic, sandy soil.

At our next Hidden Gardens of Grayshott event in 2025 you can explore the village and be inspired!  Over two days you’ll discover a wide range of gardens from the courtyard to the stately, formal to cottage, contemporary to woodland and the intimate to the ambitious.

There is a thriving allotment community with two sites in the village, producing an array of home-grown fruit and veg.  Along with other local community gardening projects the village has benefited from planting throughout, courtesy of the money raised at previous events.  Look out for the signage dotted around the village to see where some of the money has gone.

Family friendly activities

We are keen to involve all the community and the event always provides an element of surprise!  At our event in May 2023, visitors got to meet our reserved firefighters at the village fire station, feel the heat at the forge with local swordsmith, Rod Hughes, find the queen honeybee with master beekeeper, Brad Davis,  and learn their warp from their weft with traditional weaving at Rose Glen’s workshop.  Our village heritage group shared 1,000,000 years of local history  and expert gardener, Kate Turner was on hand with tips on how to get the best from our gardens.

Our junior visitors joined in with garden games at the Scout Hut, planted seeds at the School and searched for Sirrel the Squirrel’s acorns in all the gardens!

Keeping energy up!

Our army of volunteer bakers offered home-made afternoon teas at a selection of our open gardens.
