This is the year we finally get to hold our event again!

2023 has arrived and with it the prospect of our long-awaited Hidden Gardens of Grayshott event, on 28th/29th May, so be sure to save the date in your diary. Can you believe it’s been 4 years since our last event? We think it will be a great opportunity to showcase Grayshott as a welcoming village, lots of gorgeous gardens in an area surrounded by beautiful National Trust land. Of course, the event couldn't happen without financial help and we're delighted to welcome a new partner in Surrey Oaks Wealth & Financial Planning to our family of sponsors. Grayshott has a wealth of small businesses that support the village, so it is lovely to hear that our new sponsor located in the heart of the village plays such an active role in our community.

It's a family business A family run business, Joel Arif and his family live in the village with their children going to the local schools, whilst his sister Kate Arif-Hayman lives in Liphook. Both families regularly participate in Grayshott village events, as well as making use of the wonderful walks in the vicinity. Surrey Oaks Wealth & Financial Planning offer a holistic financial planning service working with clients at every stage of their financial journey, from buying a house and starting a business through to retirement and inheritance tax planning. Their aim is to develop long lasting relationships with clients and their families providing advice and support at each stage of the financial journey and across the generations.

Why the oak leaf? They chose the symbolisation of the Oak because it represented longevity, knowledge, honesty and stability all values that Joel and the team consider vital to their business and helped them stand out from the crowd. Joel’s created a lovely image using the oak trees journey to visualise those financial stages. As Joel explains “the idea behind the image is to convey how we work to nurture relationships throughout each stage of our clients lives”.

When asked why they wished to support Hidden Gardens, Kate explained, "Grayshott is a really

unique village projecting a strong sense of community and we feel privileged to be part of it. Many of our clients are based in Grayshott and the local area and so it’s important to us to be part of village events to show our thanks to and support of the people of Grayshott. Being part of the hugely popular Hidden Gardens event enables us to meet more of the people of Grayshott, develop our role within the community and have some fun too.”

Surrey Oaks is a welcoming team so on the weekend, do make sure you drop in for tea, cakes and a friendly chat to get to know Joel, Kate and their families. To find out more about Surrey Oaks, visit their website.
